Scott is real!!! Okay, so he'd probably kill me if he knew I used him as the subject for my book, but Scott is a based on a childhood friend of mine.
While Lana is definitely not me, her story is. I really did have my own Andrew Cortes, although he answered to a different name. And he really did take another girl to homecoming after claiming it "wasn't his thing" and telling me I could go with Scott as friends. The other girl was someone he had cheated on me with, although I found out after the dance, not before.
In middle and high school, Scott was quiet and unassuming, often overshadowed by his two best friends. When I ran into him years later as an adult, he had blossomed into a gorgeous man, worthy of the cover of GQ. He had become a fireman, as had one of his BFFs. (The other had become a police officer! Talk about men in uniform!)
On the other hand, life wasn't so kind to my ex, and he looks pretty ragged these days. I always wondered why all us girls went crazy over my ex, but overlooked Scott. Thus, the idea for this book was born. Scott, buddy, if you ever realize I based a book on you, I hope you forgive me. You have always been an awesome guy, and I just want to tell you that you are a sexy beast! LOL

Only You Now Available in Paperback!
For those who prefer a nice hard copy vs. an electronic one, Only You is now available for purchase in paperback at Amazon.com. :) The print edition is $14.99, but you can still get the ebook for only $2.99 at major online retailers (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Diesel, etc.)
I've been showing off my proof copy at work, and my husband said he finds it surreal to have a book in the house with my face on the back! LOL
Here's the link to the print copy, if you are interested in having your very own copy!

Author Spotlight - Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has a neat spin on paranormal in her Accidentally series. The first book starts with a heroine who hears a voice in her head...a sexy, male voice. She's heard him for years, and he has a lot to say, especially about the guy with whom she is currently on a date. Curiosity and adventure lead to mayhem, and she finds the voice in her head is actually a real, live god. This is just the first in the series, and each book highlights a different god. You'll meet the God of War, the Sun God, the Goddess of the Underworld, and more. The characters are great, and I really liked the storylines.
Check out Mimi Jean on her website at http://www.mimijean.net/index.html. You won't regret it!

Friday Fun Fact
Only You was originally supposed to be a stand alone book, and Melia was supposed to be the "other woman" that was the villain. Instead, I found that I fell in love the the entire Shepherd family and their crazy group of friends. I also found that their was more to Melia's story, and voila! Daphne was born, and Melia got a back story.
I was SOOO excited when I began thinking about the stories of Brody, Eric, Javier, Melia, and crew, that I knew the Shepherd Family Saga must be told. I currently am planning books 2-4 of the series, and I am super excited for what is in store for the group.

Author Spotlight - HP Mallory
If Kristen Ashley was the first to inspire me to try my hand at being an indie author, HP Mallory was the one who gave me the "know how." My friends can tell you that I will read just about anything you put in my hand, but my favorite books are usually fiction. I love to read for entertainment, but I don't narrow the category. You can find me reading contemporary romance, paranormal fiction, murder or suspense novels, young adult fiction, historical romance... You get the idea.
HP Mallory is an author of paranormal fiction who got her start as an independent author. She is known for her Jolie Wilkins series and her Dulcie O'Neil series. I've read both complete series, and I have to say I really liked them a lot. In fact, I LOVED the Jolie Wilkins series.
HP also wrote a helpful book called Quit Your Day Job for aspiring indie authors with tons of tips and information. It was worth every penny I spent to get it.
HP Mallory can be found online at http://hpmallory.com/. Don't miss out on this great author!

Friday Fun Fact
The character of Patrick, from my in progress book Hello, I Love You, is loosely based on my friend's brother (pictured). I have only used his name/nickname and occupation, as I have only met him two or three times. He is currently a working actor in LA, and can be seen in various movies and TV shows. The actual character of Patrick/Paddy is completely from my imagination, as are all the other characters. Mia is not based on his sister, and Kylie is not based on anyone, either. **Check out my rough draft as I post it at Hello, I Love You on Wattpad.com.

Author Spotlight - Kristen Ashley
She was the indie author that started it all for me! Kristen Ashley is one of my writing heroes. I absolutely love her books, and I wait with baited breath each time I know a new one is set to release. She is known for her Rock Chick series, her Dream Man series, and her Chaos Motorcycle Club series. She has several other series, as well as stand alone books. Her heroines are bad-ass, and she definitely knows how to write an alpha-male!
The first book of hers that I ever found was Mystery Man in her Dream Man series. Hawk Delgado was nothing short of delectable, but the book had other tasty men, too, and each book in her series highlights one of these fabulous, muscled men.
After finishing her Dream Man series, I backtracked and read her Rock Chick series. I've also read the first Chaos novel, as well as her Unfinished Heroes series.
Kristen can be found at http://www.kristenashley.net/.
